International Cooperation Project

ICTCo-op seeks students and profesional Web Programmers and Content Developers interested in participating in an international cooperation program. The goal is to pair Canadian specialists with members of non-governmental organizations and community groups in various context of international development as to assist them in the creation and development of their online presence. This is a great oppurtunity to experience a unique and rewarding interaction with people who can really profit from your input and participation. If you are a student and have a school project that can become a tool for development, or a professional with time that can be donated, consider this program as an option and chance to volunteer. Latest Recipients of ICT Workshops and Trainings

Thanks to the cooperation of the Centro Juvenil Padre Antonio Vieira (CJPAV) and ICTCo-op, members of local non-governmental organizations in Dili, East Timor, have received, from January to March 2006, photography, graphic design, and web programming training at no cost. The aim of these workshops was to develop IT skills and capacities within selected organizations as to assure that they are able to produce content and materials that assist and promote the aims and projects of their respective organizations.

Participants included staff of the CJPAV, staff of the Max Stahl Video Archive, staff of the Xanana Gusmao Reading Room (XGRR), and volunteer students seeking to increase their knowledge of IT and multimedia. The final project involved the creation of the XGRR website and continuing support to assist in the perpetuation of website maintenance and updating skills.
